We are looking for technological opportunities related to the skincare\/cosmetic industry. Projects of interest will look at products that
\ncan serve as \u201csecond skin\u201d. This includes opportunities restoring skin barrier function, protecting skin against external stimuli, mimicking the skin, preventing\/treating skin aging or supporting wound healing. Compounds will be of any origin but animal. Dermal (topical) or transdermal route of administration are preferred.<\/p>\n
Application: it must be possible to use the technology as an OTC (over the counter) product, a cosmetic product or a medical device (no interest for drugs)
\nDisease: if the technology addresses a condition, it must be possible to use it as one of the following application products: antiperspirants and internal deodorants, sunburn prevention and treatment products, antimicrobial products (including treatment of acne for example), treatments for dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and psoriasis, treatments for hair growth and loss, topical analgesics, skin protectants, skin bleaching products and pediculicides.<\/p>\n
*Example of external stimuli: Immune dysfunction, UV, air-water pollution, smoke, stress, nutrition, temperature, lack of sleep, infections, allergens
\n**Example of impact on skin barrier function: impact on the microbiological, chemical, immunological or physical barrier function of the epidermis
\n*** Example of skin mimicking: represents and looks exactly like the skin, transparent and invisible to human eyes.
